Food Web
Sources of energy are the bermudagrass and the Senegal Gum Acacia. They absorb the heat and rays of the sun and start making food through photosynthesis. The herbivores (plant eating animals) eat them. Carnivores (meat eating animals) then eat the herbivores. Fluctuations, or variation, of either herbivores and carnivores can affect the other. If there are too many herbivores than carnivores, the carnivores will have plenty of food to eat. But if there are too many carnivores than herbivores, carnivores won't have enough food to eat and will have to battle to survive. Factors such as disease or invasive species may limit population growth. Invasive species are species that take over the native plants or animals. If invasive species take over then the native plants and animals won't have any space or food to grow. So an example would be a new set of plants grow and take over the native bermudagrass but the new plants don't have all the nutrients the herbivores used to get from the bermudagrass. Therefore, the herbivores don't get their nutrients they need and they begin to die off. As the herbivores are dying off, the carnivores are getting less and less to eat. They then could die off completely.
